Job Summary:

The Voice Engineer is responsible for being the primary contact and lead for Global and Regional support. This position will work closely with Architects, Engineers and Operations to implement new products, assist in coordinating production changes, and perform day-to-day operational functions in Global Infrastructure. The incumbent will conduct fault analysis, isolation activities and resolution duties for infrastructure events associated with Voice as well as working through tickets, and engaging and communicating with clients. This position’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the infrastructure is stable, operational, efficient and operating within the parameters of the set specifications in delivering services to a global community.

Position Qualifications

Position Qualifications: Key Responsibilities:

• Documents and maintains processes for production implementation activities for voice services.

• Designs and creates documentation for all voice services initiatives.

• Acts in a leadership role in advanced signaling platforms based on hosted voice.

• Acts in a leadership role in new strategic voice services to assist with design, and heavy focus on strategy, integration and deployment.

• Acts as a subject matter expert on Brinks Networks' Digital Phone architecture and service infrastructure.

• Reviews and finalizes technical proposals.

• Verifies and documents capacity limits for any voice function as needed.

• Creates and executes Quality Assurance test plans.

• Functions in a support role as an escalation path for persistent real-time problems and contribute to long-term solutions for major deficiencies.

• Identifies and contributes to process improvements within the group and with other groups throughout the company.

• Prepares reports (i.e., weekly updates), complex reports and other documents.

• Prepares activation and technical upgrade/installation plans.

• Performs complex upgrades and installations within scheduled maintenance periods.

• Provides technical assistance to Operations staff.

• Ensures accuracy and completion of work performed and evaluates the effectiveness of results.

• Provides quick and accurate updates to management for problem isolation.

• Isolates and corrects problems with speed and accuracy while escalating when additional resources are needed or management escalation as required by SLA's.

• Participates in on-call rotation within engineering staff.

• Responds to assigned tickets.

• Monitors and Respond to all e-mails.

• Maintains problem ownership and accountability.

• Attends training as provided.

• Other duties as assigned.•

Position Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in voice and data network transport technologies, required.

• Implementation and management of outbound dialer

• Support for Level 2 telecom issues and implementation of new solutions

• Evaluating new technology and recommending solutions for future UCCX/UC architecture and services

• Ensuring all changes go through appropriate change management and implementation

• Supporting other departments/teams to securely deliver projects

• Building/maintaining relationships with 3rd party and global teams

• Working with the InfoSec Office to ensure solutions deployed meet Security Requirements

• 5 years of hands on experience in troubleshooting signaling protocols including ISDN, SS7, SIP, NCS, H323, H248 and MGCP, preferred.

• 5 years of experience as server based application administrator / integrator with Unix based operating systems, preferred.

• 5 years of network administration experience including design, deployment, and support of a carrier class network, preferred.

• Requires experience participating in complex technical projects.

• Expertise in voice networks including wireless, legacy telecom, next generation softswitch, and next generation IMS based architectures.

• Prior experience in design, installation, configuration, and testing of packet based voice deployments.

• Prior hands-on experience with large scale voice deployments including the PSTN.•

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expert in several operating software systems. Including, UNIX, Linux, and Windows

• Prior experience in design, installation, configuration, and testing of packet based voice deployments.

• Prior hands-on experience with large scale voice deployments including the PSTN.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Management Information Systems or equivalent preferred, or equivalent work experience related to voice engineering required.

• Cisco Certification/s (CCDP or CCNP-Voice is required) (Preferr CCIE-Voice)
