  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

  • Travels extensively within the five-city SHS region to provide all logistical and administrative support for the hospital foundation boards. Partners with the Foundations’ leadership in the planning, execution and follow-up for board and committee meetings. Serves as a point of contact for the Foundations through phone, email and onsite presence in the central office. Provides logistical and administrative support for team meetings.

This team works with individuals, businesses, and foundations to encourage investment in the SHS vision of providing the highest standard of healthcare to enhance the patient experience and improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve. As active members in the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, team members are dedicated to developing philanthropic relationships that are guided by the Donor Bill of Rights and managed with integrity and respect.

  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma required. Associate’s degree preferred.

  • Four (4) years experience in administrative support required.

  • Typing speed of 50 wpm required.

  • Experience or training with computer applications required.

  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management software preferred.

  • Experience or training in structure narratives, memos, letters, agenda and rules of spelling/grammar/punctuation preferred.

  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.

  • Strong business writing and transcription skills, including the ability to professionally translate activities, resolutions and decisions from board meetings into succinct and accurate overviews for historical documentation.

  • Ability to navigate internal and external relationships with a service orientation. Recognition of the service components of the job and ability to maintain focus on positive outcomes and customer experience. Capacity to see one’s work product from the eyes of the customer and moderate service accordingly.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members and tactfully discuss quality issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and operate under compliant practices as set out by HIPPA, the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights. Use knowledge and judgment skills to determine whether events or processes comply and to assess the safety of protected information.

  • Ability to communicate to people internal and external to the organization and to represent the organization to donors, prospects and system partners.
