Project Controllers supportclient engagement team(s) by assisting with initiating and controllingfinancial and organizational aspects of projects. You ll alsoutilize project team communications to understand their needs and assist in theformation of business strategies. Work you ll do
As aSummer Scholarin ourProject Controller practice, you'll team and collaborate with other controllersto help assist Deloitte project managers in maintaining compliance withclients policies, perform internal financial analysis, including budgeting,forecasting, and cost variance analysis in addition to managing projects billing and receivables process. You'llalso monitor project performance and determine improvement areas by analyzingkey performance indicators. On any givenassignment, you may help to improve internal processes and directly communicatestrategies and analytical results with your Project Controller team to help keepprojects on track and within the scope of cost. Your summer will conclude witha presentation outlining your networking and client service experience in frontof a panel of Project Controller Senior Leadership.
Our Project Controller practice helps clients define what theyneed and how it can be delivered. Using advanced financial, budgeting, andforecasting techniques we provide realistic cost estimates that account forprojects phases, people, materials, hardware, and software. We produce thebest- and worst-case estimates using leading-edge project and client managementsoftware to help keep clients projects on track and on cost. We manage risk byperforming financial analysis and reconciliations to keep project variances incheck. You will work in a team composed of management, both senior and juniorstaff along with team members in India. This team dynamic provides unique perspectivesthat will enable you to grow as a financial advisor and gain a well-roundedinsight into the Project Controller practice.
Pursing a Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management or related area (junior standing)
Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2)
Rising college Senior or academic equivalent
Availability to work full time during the course of 10 weeks
Solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance principles
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills
Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team
Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to "think outside the box" while identifying problems and developing creative solutions
Willingness to travel
