Verizon Manager —Human Resources and Employee Experience Communications in Cumming, Georgia

What you’ll be doing...

The Manager —Human Resources and Employee Experience Communications develops and implements internal communication strategies that educate, engage, and inspire employees around Verizon's vision, business priorities and our Credo and Promise.

Collaborates with and provides strategic counsel to leadership and client organizations on optimal communications tactics and channels to engage employees as part of creating a workplace culture that aligns with our Credo and our Commitment and Values; promotes an inclusive, ethical and high performance business; supports performance management and talent development; encourages health and wellness along with effective benefit utilization, and fosters a culture of learning and safety-first mindset across Verizon.

Creates and implements internal campaigns and multi-media communications strategies by working with subject matter experts on topics that include Benefits & Compensation, Business Ethics, Diversity, Health & Wellness, HR Systems, Change and Performance Management, Safety, Learning & Career Development, and Workplace Culture & the Employee Experience.

Creates, writes, edits, posts and designs content for company websites, infographics, electronic publications, speeches and discussion guides, videos, webcasts and social media platforms. Also creates and distributes email messages for enterprise-wide audiences.

Works to continuously improve communications effectiveness by researching industry trends, identifying new strategies for message delivery, and collecting and analyzing data to help correlate how internal communications programs impact employee productivity and organizational performance.

What we’re looking for...

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or other related field

  • 5+ years of experience in professional writing and managing communications programs

  • Exceptional writing and communication skills

  • Strong PowerPoint skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook

  • Experience in developing communications plans and tactics to achieve business objectives

  • Ability to manage deadlines and deliver results in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in managing events like leadership conferences, town halls and webcasts

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Master’s Degreein English, Journalism, Communications or other related field

  • Human Resources functional experience and knowledge of HR systems

  • Experience in change management, brand promotion and global communications

  • Understanding of web design and implementation and content management systems

  • Strong technical writing skill and project management skills
