Job Summary

The AECOM Architectural Group is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Architectural Designer for employment in the Dallas, TX office. The Entry-Level Architectural Designer will work collaboratively with all team members to cultivate design concepts through modeling, drawings, diagrams, maps, data visualization and statistical analyses as part of the process. Candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability, confidence, and desire to push the limits of what’s possible while seeking innovative solutions to design problems, providing unique perspectives to the built environment. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in preparation of designs, quantity calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings

  • Use computer software as a tool for solving basic architectural problems

  • Maintain conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes

  • Develop 2D/3D conceptual designs

  • Develop renderings, animations and VR for design presentation

  • Visual programming (Dynamo or Grasshopper)

  • Experimental design

  • High Performance Building design

  • Data driven design and statistical analysis of design iterations

  • Geospatial modeling

  • Energy and daylight modeling

  • Graphic design

  • Prepare construction documents

  • Coordinate design efforts with multi-discipline team members

  • Support Sr. Architects and Project Managers on multiple tasks

  • Prepare/contribute to architectural studies

  • Participating in Facility Condition Assessments

  • Contribute to Code Searches

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or other related field required

  • Ability to be proactive in initiation, creation and presentation of designs

  • Ability to engage in design collaborations and effectively communicate with fellow design professionals and clients

  • Ability to articulate questions and have a willingness to engage topics outside of their level of expertise

  • Strong knowledge of design

  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Rhino/Grasshopper/Dynamo, VRay, 3dsMax, Adobe Creative Suite;

  • Experience in developing and prepare design presentations and construction documents for large public and private clients;

  • Strong technical skills related to planning, and architectural design and detailing;

  • Experience coordinating work, civil, structural and MEP disciplines;

  • Field experience with observing construction progress and capable of providing construction administration services;

  • Ability to clearly communicate with clients and peers;

  • Diversified knowledge of architectural principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields

  • Portfolio

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous scripting experience (for design)
