Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of projects involving department or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or project from the design process through a finished state for internal/external customers. Serves as a single point of contact for projects. Takes all projects from concept development through final implementation. Interfaces with all areas affected by the project which may include external customers, and various departments (e.g. IT, Network operations, revenue cycle services etc.). Identifies and defines the project scope, objectives and timeline in conjunction and/or consultation with all the stakeholders. Oversees/coordinates all aspects of project and serves as project manager between customers, line management and internal and external resources. Plans and manages schedules within the project budgets. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on all matters. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project deliverables. Manages the integration of vendor tasks, and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. May provide project management guidance to project team. Recommends/takes action to direct the analysis of and solution to problems.
Serves as key point of contact and project lead for customer(s) during implementation.
Responsible for overall customer satisfaction relating to project implementation. May need to manage multiple projects concurrently across multiple customers.
Provide project leadership to internal, cross-functional teams striving to meet project deliverables and timelines.
Effectively plan, organize and conduct project meetings by coordinating with the project team members to ensure project deliverables are met in a timely manner.
Assign and track project tasks/activities and report to the management and/or customers on project outcomes. Proactively identify and alert management and/or customers on potential risk to the timeline and/or project deliverables. Manage expectations of the key stakeholders involved.
Represent the project at meetings and manage relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external customers and vendors.
Evaluate and analyze actual project performance against established goals and plan objectives and reviews with team and management. Manage agreed upon adjustments consistent with project objectives.
Manage conflict resolution among project team members to ensure successful outcomes.
Negotiate timeline and resource requirements within each functional area maintaining the overall project objective and timeline.
Formally close out projects with appropriate hand off’s and transition plan at completion of the project.
Revenue Cycle Processes and Systems
Must understand and gain in depth knowledge of the overall practice revenue cycle processes including front office and back office functions.
Must understand and educate practices as needed on Network’s revenue cycle blue print standard or other revenue cycle standards developed by The Network.
Assess process gaps between practice processes and blue print processes so support system design and implementation as needed.
Define and report key success/operational revenue cycle metrics prior to, during and after implementation of revenue cycle systems or process.
Collaborate with other revenue cycle managers, business office managers and customers to identify opportunities to drive / accelerate revenue cycle improvements related to an implementation
Process Improvement and Change Management
Monitors and communicates the results of process improvement projects/ initiatives to management team and/or the customers.
Supports the identification and evaluation of the customer’s risk areas to identify process improvement opportunities related to revenue cycle.
Develops and maintains customer, staff, and management relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
Manages change related to the project implementation through use of change management tools as and when necessary.
Uses Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement tools to assess, improve and control processes
Leadership and Communication
Exhibits leadership throughout the lifecycle of project implementation by meeting customer expectations.
Effectively communicate with customers, key stakeholders and management on all aspects of the project and process improvement efforts etc. or any other communication necessary for successful execution of the project.
5 years’ experience in project management.
At least five years solid project management experience required
At least three years process improvement or lean six sigma experiences required
At least three years’ experience with Revenue Cycle Operational processes
Proven track record on project management and process improvement including identification of problems, solution options, influencing operational adoption and implementation resulting in strong positive performance outcomes.
Training and change management leadership
Financial acumen - Financial analysis and P&L interpretation skills including ability to calculate cost benefit analysis and ROI, and help identify financial savings.
Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma tools and methodologies including DMAIC, Lean, Kaizen, Workout, and DFSS.
Strong problem solving, analytical and decision making skills
Collaborative, customer-focused and able to create visible value
Excellent writing, presentation and influencing skills
Proficient PC skills: Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Visio)
- 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred.
