Description

The Client Associate (CA) role is a sales support position, typically providing dedicated operational and sales support to multiple Financial Advisors (FA's). Incumbents may also on a regular basis support office initiatives, in addition to the businesses of particular FA's. For established clients, the CA will often serve as the most frequent point of contact with Merrill Lynch. Fully registered CA (Series 7, 63, 65, & 66). Fully paid or partially paid by the FA.

Additional Line of Business Specific Details

Rapidly Growing PBIG team in Denver office (Republic Plaza location) in Search of Client Associate to join as soon as August 2017. This four person team is comprised of 2 PWAs, one in Denver and one in Dallas, as well as a COO (Private Wealth Relationship Manager) and 1 Client Associate in Dallas. Candidates must be able to manage multiple tasks, communicate well internally with team and externally with clients, as well as be willing to take direction from team COO. We anticipate the Client Associate will spend about 1/3 of their time on client service, 1/3 on prospecting and the remaining 1/3 on marketing/events and team administration combined.

Client Service responsibilities:

  • Ability to Execute Trades of Stocks, Bonds & Mutual Funds

  • Familiarity with ML Operating Systems and ML One Fee Structure (Monitor Variances, Submit Sales Force Notes)

  • Knowledge of Account Opening Process and Preparation of Documents

  • Maintain Household & Client Data (Custom Account Groups, Statement Links, Online Access, Periodic Data Validation, Source of Wealth)

  • Monitor Cash Needs by Account to Cover Monthly Fees and Periodic Outgoing Transfers/Wires

  • Understanding of Lines of Credit, Margin Loans, and Mortgages

  • Run CRC/Performance Reviews

Prospecting responsibilities:

  • Assist with General Prospecting Efforts; Including Researching Prospects and Managing Communication Flow

  • Strong Knowledge of Excel for Modeling Current Allocations (using existing prospect statements) and Showing Changes Needed by Strategy to Achieve Target Allocations

  • Strong Knowledge of PowerPoint for Creation of Pitch books (Create, Edit, Import Spreadsheets, Build Charts, Bind books, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Wealth Bench & Outlook, My Financial Picture, CRC Helpful and/or Willingness to Learn

Marketing/Events

  • Maintain/Update Team Marketing Materials (Bios, Presentations, Linked In, Team Website)

  • Help Plan & Execute Logistics for Client/Prospect Events (Arrange Venue, Coordinate Invites, Manage Guest lists, Possibly Attend Events)

Team Administration:

  • Assist Advisors with Booking Travel and Processing T & E Reimbursements

  • Create & Maintain Client/Prospect Email Distribution Lists

  • Track Internal Metrics for Growth Awards

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree preferred, Minimum of 1+ years professional or relevant internship experience required.

  • Series 7 & 63/65 or 66 registration preferred; if hired without licenses, depending on the needs of the business, you may be required to obtain registrations.

  • Knowledge of investment and banking products, policies & procedures is required.

  • Strong client service & technical skills (MS Word & Excel).

  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills are required.
