Provides customer service to external customers which includes the application of basic, intermediate and advanced underwriting guidelines, discounts, coverage’s and pricing options for all lines of business. Provides agent support with quoting, policy processing, cross selling and marketing activities. Utilizes core competencies and skills to maximize customer experience. Assist with auditing and training of assigned personnel. Process complex policy service transactions.
Essential Job Functions
Analyze, clarify, and resolve policy and account related questions/transactions including complex transactions from external customers for all lines of business. Reviews problems and communicates with appropriate personnel to obtain information when necessary. R esponds to customer inquiries through appropriate mediums. Provides an excellent customer experience by ensuring that policy transactions are issued and changes are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Objectively validates information provided for new business, endorsements and renewal transactions within defined scope of discretio n. Develops effective working relationships with agents and other internal customers for all lines of business. Includes correspondence, phone calls and e-mail to gather and analyze necessary information critical to the underwriting function. Processes and inputs all necessary policy transactions through appropriate company systems. Key enters data or prepares worksheets as needed. Assists with policy processing and quote training of team members, agents and agency staff (in-house, deployed and retail agents). Conducts quality assurance activities with regard to processing accuracy, underwriting authority and documentation of records. Oversees the workflow within the unit and monitors compliance with company service standards. Coordinates the investigation of system problems and assists with corrective action. Provide insurance quotes and information in a courteous and professional manner. Handles special projects as assigned.
Either a Bachelor's Degree or actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree is preferred as this is a great entry-point position that has the ability to promote to many other roles within the team. High School Diploma is required.
One year in a customer service position or applicable agency/business experience.
