Job Description:

Duties and RESPONSIBILITIES:

In compliance with the NISPOM, DCID, ICD, and other government regulations, administer routine aspects of the DOD, Intelligence Community, and other industrial security programs to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. Primary duties will include g reeting personnel and issuing security badges to employees and visitors. Maintain logs and records of badges issued and related information. Protect classified government information, monitor security procedures, ensuring compliance with all aspects of the program including personnel, physical and administrative security systems and procedures. Investigate losses and security violations and recommend corrective actions.

  • Assist in facilitating security briefings and training for individuals/groups as required.

  • Ensures smooth flow of visitors in the lobby area when training classes, meetings or seminars are held at the facility.

  • Utilize the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) to verify and track personnel security clearances, as required.

  • Processes visitor requests and enters clearance information into SIMS database.

  • Answers incoming telephone calls and questions from visitors.

  • Handles outgoing and incoming mail, ensuring it is delivered or picked up promptly.

  • Serve as an alternate COMSEC Custodian managing accountability of CCI equipment.

  • Enforce visitor control protocols to include identification verification, badge issue and programming of access cards.

  • Assist with operations of intrusion detection systems and access control devices and respond to alarms as required.

  • Coordinates with customers and other government representatives on security issues / actions.

Must be proficient in the following computer applications: Word for Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet. Proficiency and ability to maintain multiple databases.

Provide support to other security disciplines as determined by the Facility Security Officer.

Required Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelor's degree or minimum two – six year's security-related experience, to include: applicable security discipline principles, practices, and procedures.

Must have current final Secret or above security clearance.

Must have previous industrial security experience and an in-depth knowledge of the NISPOM.

Must possess practical knowledge of and experience with JPAS, e-QIP, SIMS (or equivalent system) and ISFD.

Must have experience with personnel security, document and visitor control.

Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally with all levels of staff and outside personnel.

Must have experience in the U.S. Government, DoD, Intelligence, or contractor community in security management.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completion of FSO Certification would be a plus.

  • Completion of additional DSSA correspondence courses would be a plus.

  • Competed DSSA course - JPAS/JCAVS Virtual Training For Security Professionals

  • Competed DSSA course - Introduction to Personnel Security

  • Competed DSSA course - Industrial Security Facilities Database (ISFD)

  • Competed DSSA course – FSO Role in the NISP

  • Competed DSSA course – Introduction to Industrial Security

  • Competed DSSA course – Essentials of Industrial Security Management- FSO Certification

Required Qualifications:
