Summary:ThePediatrician shall be responsible for providing care to infants, children, and teenagers for day-to-day illnesses that are common to children, i.e., minor injuries, infectious diseases, and immunizations.

Perform a full range of Pediatric services on site in the Family Practice Clinic using government furnished supplies, facilities, and equipment within the assigned unit of the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). The Health Care Worker's (HCW) productivity is expected to be comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.

Provide a full range of Pediatric procedures.

Pediatrician will be responsible for routine physical exams, routine health screening; illness for conditions such as colds and flu.

Treatment of minor illness including cuts and sprains.

Treatment and management of chronic illness such as diabetes and asthma.

Wellness and disease prevention.

Treatment of adolescent medicine

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· NONE

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

· Possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in one of the 50 United States, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or U.S. Virgin Islands.

· Meet all licensing/certification requirements to perform as a Pediatrician. The provider shall have graduated from an accredited educational college or university; the HCP shall be board certified in Pediatrics.

· Graduated with a medical degree from an approved school and completed an accredited residency in Pediatrics.

· Notwithstanding the aforementioned requirements, the HCW must have pertinent clinical experience within the last 2 years sufficient to demonstrate current clinical competency for the setting and procedures required by this task order.

· Provide two letters of recommendation written within the last two years attesting to the HCW's clinical skills. A minimum of one letter must be from a supervisor. Reference letters must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing the reference

· Must have or obtain a current, valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number prior to performing the contract services. Any change to the DEA requirements to obtain a valid DEA registration number is applicable when the incumbent's existing DEA registration expires.

· The HCP shall have and maintain at all times and at contractor expense current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and , Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

· Shall be required to meet Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements. The Government will not reimburse for these costs.

· Foreign medical graduate physicians shall possess a valid certificate from the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

· The HCP providing services under this contract shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients and other health care providers.
