TheBenefits Analyst Senioris responsible for managing and administering benefit programs, projects and vendor relationships to support the strategic priorities of the Global Benefits team. The Benefits Analyst Senior assures benefit plans and programs are administered in compliance with plan documents and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain procedures for the Administration of Health & Welfare Plans (H&W) including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, dependent life, disability, flexible spending accounts and HSA’s.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Disability and LOA policies. Interpret and administer complex leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws and establishes process for the company.
Serve as a project manager and facilitate maintenance of Global Benefits compliance projects to include, but not limited to preparing annual Compliance Calendar and managing to completion, maintaining all required documentation and evidence to support compliance programs and audits, identification of gaps and weaknesses, implementing process improvements, and providing compliance training.
Take the lead role managing relationships and liaising with various internal and external auditors, act as a liaison with outside consultants and Third Party Administrator’s (TPA’s), interface with management and team members to review plan elements or specific concerns related to plan administration, and serve as a contact for communicating with regulatory bodies, plan vendors, or agents as needed.
Design and implement training presentations on Health & Welfare Programs.
Prepare communications on H&W benefits for employees, ensuring appropriate messaging to various employee groups and families.
Research questions raised by plan participants.
Process enrollments, change-of-status requests and PeopleSoft Event Maintenance.
Assist with the preparation of tax related filings or other related reporting requirements support, annual enrollment processes, and Summary Plan Description (SPD) review and preparation.
Identify, re-engineer, and make recommendations to streamline processes, striving to achieve process efficiencies and optimal best practice design for the Global Benefits team.
Perform other duties as requested.
Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of regulations regarding H&W plans including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, etc.
Demonstrated project management, communication, problem analysis and consultation skills.
Familiarity with non-discrimination testing procedures and methods and other compliance aspects of Employee Benefit Plans.
Knowledge in preparation and filing of Form 5500 with the IRS.
General working knowledge of defined contribution benefits.
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Applications, especially databases.
Professional speaking ability directly to a person via the telephone or Internet.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
PeopleSoft Benefits Administration system experience preferred.
Possess a high degree of proficiency in assigned function and attention to details.
Ability to use ingenuity to develop creative benefits solutions, streamline processes, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
Experience & Education
Five years of progressively responsible experience in design, implementation and administration of benefits programs.
CEBS certification preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline preferred.
