The new 86,000-square-foot facility located at 845 Regent Blvd, Irving TX 75067, includes 20,000 square feet dedicated to job roles supporting specialty medication dispensing such as clinical, dispensing, customer service, patient support and clinical research operations. The new facility is centrally located in the DFW office park between Highway 121/114. The new Irving facility allows McKesson Specialty Pharmacy Solutions, a leading specialty pharmacy that partners with pharmaceutical manufacturers and healthcare providers, to ensure patients gain access to specialty drugs and adhere to therapies.

Current Need

Position Description

The Manager of Patient Intake is responsible for managing the efficient and effective on-boarding of patients into the specialty pharmacy and the management of their journey throughout therapy. This includes intake of prescriptions, orders, and referrals, data entry into the pharmacy system, and refill processing. The manager will ensure ongoing quality assurance activities and customer service functions.

This manager is a critical leader in the operation and success of the specialty pharmacy work flow. The candidate should exhibit strong influencing skills which effectively motivate employees to provide exceptional quality activities with intake of prescriptions and assisting in the flow of dispensing to the patient. They should possess a strong attention to detail and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

  1. Manages and develops non-exempt direct reportsof Pharmacy Technician associates.

  2. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, on-boardingand training new employees.

  3. Promotes on-going development of team throughcoaching, mid-year and annual performance evaluations.

  4. Responsible for departmental budget, analyzingvolumes, direct costs and adjusting to meet goals.

  5. Meet/exceed metrics or SLA’s by program anddeadlines established might include items such as number of prescriptionsprocessed, data entry, quality of order entry, and queue movement.

  6. Manages external and internal servicecompliance; identify risk/compliance opportunities; supports assessment andmitigation of identified risks; responsible to corporate risk and othercompliance functions.

  7. Conducts root cause and trend analysis, anddevelops process improvement for all key aspects of this position.

  8. Works with team to implement creativesolutions to daily workflow problems and temporary labor shortages

  9. Developand maintain a team with a passion for customer service and ongoing qualityimprovement.

  10. Maintains program SOPs, exceptions processes,workflows, scripting, training and reports.

  11. Maintains current information as to trends and developments indrugs, clinical care, and business interests.

  12. Maintains compliance to all applicable stateand federal regulations

Minimum Requirements

7 years operational experience including 4 years managerial experience

Critical Skills:

* 3 years experience in pharmacy or health care related industry.

  • Experience in management, coaching and development of teams

  • Collaborative, customer focused, and highly motivated with a positive attitude.

  • Experience in meeting or exceeding SLAs for multiple programs

  • Experience in healthcare and pharmacy setting

  • Experience in program implementation, maintenance and restructure

  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities

Within a changing environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio

Education:

4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
