The selected candidate will use advanced vulnerability analysis tools to assist other software engineers in the development of secure code. The candidate will be the Aero SME for the deployment of the Tool Output Integrated Framework (TOIF) software analysis capability. The candidate will be responsible for working with all LOBs to deploy this tool, to assist users in knowledge of tool use, to develop procedures that enhance user use of the tool, and to develop techniques to reduce the false positive results of the tool. The candidate will conduct formal training on the use of the tool.
The selected candidate will use advanced technical concepts in support of real-time embedded avionics software products. He/she will support the Definition of Operational Flight Program requirements and definition of secure software architectures for new or existing executive software on complex computer systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development and testing of airborne avionics embedded software, for performing hands on integration and test of software with target hardware in the loop and for interfacing with various disciplines including system and integration and test engineering.
The candidate will be expected to gain experience working with serial interfaces, analog and digital I/O and TCP/IP.
Basic Qualifications The applicant must have software development experience and must have experience with C, C++, C#, and/or Java. The candidate must have a solid understanding of at least one of the following protocols: MIL-STD-1553, IEEE 1394, FiberChannel or Ethernet. Candidate must be capable of independently designing and creating software solutions based on limited information on rapidly evolving projects. Must be able to clearly communicate and share design decisions to the team. This role requires a highly motivated, organized engineer that is familiar with all aspects of avionics systems development. Experience with software installation/distribution and configuration management. Must have experience working in a team environment and possess the ability to plan and execute tasks efficiently and gather and disseminate information working with peers, subordinates and management. Knowledge of Earned Value Management practices. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. This position will require a DOD security clearance.
Desired skills Experience with modern development tools (visual modeling, simulation, debug, and bus analyzers) and experience with Wind River VxWorks, Green Hills Integrity, Linux, QNX RTOS and/or Windows is a plus. Experience supporting the full software development life cycle and working in a mature software process environment to include experience in secure software development. Experience with developing and flowing requirements, security design definition, integration and testing. The ideal candidate will be familiar with software requirements and configuration management. Preferred 5+ years experience with C, C+, and/or JAVA. Experience developing and interpreting design requirements and implementation roadmaps, metrics and other controls to monitor and report on program progress and health. Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Ability to decompose requirements to assure accurate and efficient flow to meet and help drive business guidelines and program contractual needs. Candidate must be able to work within and outside of the organization to gather information on security engineering, cyber engineering solutions and technologies, and analyze for implementation in company products.
