The Desktop Security Engineer has global responsibility for supporting the engineering associated with the planning, building, configuration, deployment, and run & maintain support of the security tools used to protect, detect, and respond to security threats across the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for run & maintain support of the security tools used to protect, detect, and respond to security threats

  • Identifies key areas for improvement in the technology used

  • Ensure tool effectiveness in terms of making sure it is running according to vendor specification, configuration, and deployment requirements

  • Support security documentation program manager providing SME input into policy, standards, and guidelines

  • Comfortable working in a large centrally managed environment of 20,000+ endpoints

  • Experienced working with SCCM, Altiris, and JAMF

  • Collaborate with appropriate staff across organization to achieve common goals

  • Understands Change Management and the Change Control process as defined by ITIL

  • Ensure documentation and processes are well defined so that the engineered solutions are understood and repeatable

  • Ensure solutions are well built, backed up & restore tested, and consistently maintained

  • Proactively advise the business on how to maintain security posture

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Assurance, Security, Management Information Systems, Risk Management or equivalent work experience acceptable

  • Relevant technical and/or security certificates a plus

  • 5+ years of related cybersecurity architecture, engineering, or desktop support experience

  • Strong interpersonal and excellent documentation skills are a must

  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft and Apple Operating Systems

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and associated technologies

  • Excellent customer service skills required

  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
