Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Dams Engineer to work as part of an established dams engineering team in our Germantown, Maryland office This position will support ongoing dams engineering projects across the DC-Metro/Mid-Atlantic region and around the world.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical support to dams project managers, including design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of dams. Includes:

  • Technical investigations

  • Dam construction oversight

  • Dam analysis and design

  • Progression toward greater responsibility, including task and project management and certification as a professional engineer

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (geotechical engineering focus)

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of MS Office Programs

  • EIT required; must be on track to attain Professional Engineer license

  • Geotechnical engineering background and experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with dams projects, including rehabilitation and/or new design and construction required

  • Security Clearance a bonus

  • Prefer experience with GeoStudio software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or other federal agency experience helpful
