Works with Strategy Integration Reporting Manager in analyzing the effectiveness of new and existing agency management, performance and compensation programs.
Drives research, development and creation of proposals, special projects and programs designed to improve the productivity and profitability of the Independent Agency Operations organization and the Independent Agent Channel Leads projects ranging from Planning, Agency Compensation and Segmentation to developing models to optimize allocation of resources.
Identifies and develops opportunities for segmenting the agency force; makes conclusions and recommendations to improve results and maximize effectiveness of the agency distribution system and field management resources.
Participates in operational reporting and analysis projects for IA distribution.
Performs sophisticated, comprehensive data analysis for the Independent Agency Distribution Channel across all agency segments and lines of business, including data translation and allocation as required.
Develops and implements new and innovative applications and data modeling techniques to organizational planning. Applies analysis, interpretation and reporting to solve unique unstructured problems.
Determines proper level of analytics reporting required to drive critical business decisions.
Periodic contact with and presentation to senior executives.
Essential Job Functions
Engaging senior leadership team through meetings and presentations Builds and enhances processes models that provide systematic measurement of distribution management initiatives.
Develops actionable measurement of distribution programs that drive follow-up strategy and tactics, including post-implementation analysis.
Uses multiple, large and complex data sources to develop evaluations and recommendations for the Independent Agency Distribution Organization.
Works with diverse business units to define critical business needs.
Participates in joint projects with other business units regarding the performance, management and compensation of IA Distribution Channel.
Analyzes, develops agency segmentation compensation programs.
Produces standardized and customized operational management reports including trending and forecasting.
Develops agency segmentation attribute reporting including collection presentment of standard operational KPSs and milestones including operational scorecards. Designs develops “needs based” reporting to support IA sales distribution priorities including National Accounts Management Group. Other duties as assigned
Four-year college degree in business, insurance management, statistical or related field.
At least 8 years in similar role with Farmers or equivalent external experience or 5 years of experience with a graduate level degree.
Experience solving quantitative qualitative organizational management problems.
Experience in performance evaluation through modeling techniques that include complex data capture, translation and evaluation.
Expert level with Microsoft Excel as well as Business Objects experience.
Special Skill Requirement
High degree of competence designing and building complex dashboards and visualizations using complex data ecosystems, and multi-dimensional data
Expertise using Tableau (and other BI tools) to design and build data visualizations
Experience writing complex SQL queries to extract multiple, large, complex data-sets
Ability to act as a data storyteller and liaison between technical and non-technical personnel
Experience with open source visualization technologies such as D3 & R is a plus
Proven organizational, written and oral communication, decision making, leadership and critical thinking skills.
Proven abilities of strategic and tactical planning and execution and achievement of successful results.
