Eaton Corporation Specialist Cloud Developer in Hadapsar Pune, India

To develop advanced connected lighting system for real time location asset tracking. Leads the SW aspects of systems while working closely with engineering and product management teams. The specialist is responsible for defining the software’s high-level functionality, analyzing technical tradeoffs, determining major components and subsystems, and defining the interaction between each of these subsystems and the end user. In order to be successful, the lead must fully understand the context of the ecosystem and must work closely with customers, suppliers and the development teams to deliver outstanding solutions.

In this role candidate will architect the software for industry leading connected lighting systems with the help of the design team to deliver products through the entire design cycle while maintaining cost and schedule targets. In addition to being an expert in software architecture, the candidate will also possess excellent communication skills with a proven track record of delivering positive results.

  • Work with product management, customers, stake holders and suppliers to define the software architecture and functional solutions for advanced connected lighting systems.

  • Work with product management and develop teams to execute the software design from concept through release within the scope, schedule, and budget constraints

  • Define technical strategies for current and future product releases using a Scaled Agile Framework Identify new technology trends and perform proof of concepts for technologies that are relevant to connected lighting systems

  • Help develop strategic partnerships with companies that have applicable key software and related technologies

  • Present functional and technical solutions to engineering and product management. Communicate well with others across the organization including the executive leadership team

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/BS degree in an electrical or software engineering discipline

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in embedded firmware and/or software design

  • Experience with the Agile SW development processes and tools

  • Experience in creating functional and technical software system architectures

  • Hands on working knowledge of wide range of technologies across the IoT stack including embedded systems, network topologies, transport protocols, cloud computing, stream processing, data management, analytics, security, identity management and application development

  • Expert in one or more programming (C/C++, Java, C#)

  • Hands-on experience with one or more web programming or scripting languages for creating IoT mashups ex. node.js, python, javascript, php, REST,etc

  • Hands-on experience with messaging protocols/technologies, e.g. WebSockets, XMPP, AMQP, MQTT, etc

  • Experience working with cloud environment (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc) and developing SaaS applications

  • Knowledge of wireless technologies ex. BLE, ZigBee, WiFi, etc

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline

  • Systems engineering design experience within the IoT space

  • SW design experience in SDK and/or API based development

  • Ability to manage the technical aspects of sub-contracted activities

  • Experience working with a global engineering team
