Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented TET II Project Inspector for immediate employment

with our Hunt Valley, MD team. This position will be located in Hanover, MD.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct concrete tests and soil, sub-grade, and sub-base compaction tests

  • Inspect grading, resurfacing, and drainage structures for satisfactory work and adherence to plans and Maryland State Highway Administration specifications

  • Overseeing contractor crews and filling out inspector daily reports for men, equipment, and work completed each day including computations for pay items and job notes

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • 2+ years of experience in construction inspection

  • Must have or will obtain MARTCP certifications in concrete, soils & aggregate compaction, pavement markings, and HMA within 6 months of employment

  • Must be able to obtain the MDE Responsible Personnel Certification card, Temporary Traffic Control/Traffic Manager Certification, and nuclear gauge safety training certification

  • Candidate will also need to take and pass four SHA Core training certifications

  • Candidate will need to be able to operate a nuclear gauge

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Mus have elementary knowledge of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and English

  • Must have introductory knowledge of elementary engineering methods and techniques

  • Ability to compute simple engineering data, work from simple plans and specifications, make drawings, tracings, and accurate notes

  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions

  • Work effectively with others

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have good communication skills,oral and written

  • Must be able to read and interpret plans for construction projects

  • Provide guidance to contractor personnel on the proper use of Temporary Traffic Control devices/TTC standards

  • Basic computer skills, MS Office

  • Excellent time management skills, self-motivator, team oriented
