Advanced finance position performing complex assignments requiring proven analytical and technical skills. May serve as a subject matter expert for the unit, participating in and sometimes leading special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
Evaluate, analyze and present financial information relative to plans and goals, benchmarks and other data to Market Head, Financial Director, Health Plan CFO and market management
Support financial information requests from Health Plan CFO and market management
Perform forecast modeling functions and develop forward-looking estimates to assist in forecast and plan development
Assist in developing accurate, timely, meaningful explanations for monthly financial results and variances to plan and forecasts including production of monthly analysis tools and reporting
Perform drill-down analysis on issues to support root cause understanding and identify/develop solutions as appropriate
Utilize full functionality of all planning models (Excel, Hyperion, and Access)
Partner with other financial disciplines (actuarial, underwriting, etc.) to complete projects and analytical objectives
Provide project management support for critical action plans and other initiatives that cut across business units
Manage processes to measure, understand and monitor business unit results relative to action plans and milestones
at least 5 years related accounting/financial experience (generally required).
Previous experience working in Healthcare Insurance/ Industry preferred, but not required.
Strong working proficiency with MS Office Products (particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint); and Hyperion preferred.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
