Eaton’s Cooper lighting business in Hicksville, NY is currently looking for a Press Brake Operator for the 1st shift

Primary Function:

The primary function of the Press Brake Operator is preparing and producing fabricated components with high quality in a safe manner to meet customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate and setup Amada Press Brakes with CNC control

  • Operate and set up Cincinnati Press Brake with CNC Control

  • Maintain orderly working and storage area.

  • Must observe safety & environmental rules and regulations at all times

  • Understand and proficiently operate all Press controls and Fabrication Equipment.

  • Troubleshoot various machinery problems.

  • Keeps work areas clean and safe.

  • Perform additional related duties as required.


  • Include micrometers, calipers, tape measurers, rulers, protractors, personal protective equipment and press brake setup tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach forward, and stand for up to 12 hours, following all ergonomic principles.

  • Ability to pick up fixtures, sheet metal, sheet metal parts, and small wires and parts.

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motion and tolerate exposure to varying temperatures.

  • Ability to regularly lift 40 pounds without assistance and occasionally lift more than 40 pounds with assistance.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and follow all EHS parameters as required by company policy and procedure.

  • Ability to use hand and power tools as required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality priorities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Minimum one (1) year sheet metal experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the Syracuse, NY facility will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience operating and setting up an Amada Press Brake with CNC control.

  • Prior experience operating and setting up Cincinnati Press Brake with CNC Control

  • Working knowledge of SAP software.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
