The Credit Quality Assurance Analyst works as a member of a quality assurance team that focuses on continuous testing of key risk factors specifically within the Commercial Real Estate portfolios. As an independent "first line of defense" function, this role works with business owners and other credit risk professionals; as well as Lending Originations and Administration; to assess; monitor; and report on data quality and credit risk. The analyst works with his/her peer group and other associates across the Bank including Internal Audit; Enterprise Risk Management; SOX; Compliance; Finance; Internal Loan Review and Bank Data Warehouse.


Drives the quality and effectiveness of risk controls established by business and process owners by independently testing ongoing portfolio credit risk analysis. Reviews processes; controls and analysis tools that help ensure consistent quality throughout the data entry process. Designs and performs tests of controls as part of continuous monitoring to provide an independent evaluation of data quality and operational effectiveness. Develops and provides reporting on key performance metrics. Continually reviews and reports on credit asset portfolio Key Risk Indicators to ensure approved risk strategies are performing as anticipated. Evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of existing controls and provides business direction on opportunities for improvement. Provides an independent; objective view of credit risk assessments; mitigation strategies and emerging risks. Assists with projects supporting efforts to continually improve/enhance the Credit Quality Assurance team. Performs special projects; and additional duties and responsibilities as required. High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/economics or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of financial industry experience. Minimum of three years of commercial lending experience.


Strong knowledge of commercial loan credit analysis; underwriting and/or portfolio management. Strong knowledge of operational processes; risk management and internal control principles. Knowledge of commercial lending regulations and practices. Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment; provide insight and influence change. Excellent verbal; written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent financial analysis and mathematical skills. Strong organizational; project management and multi-talking skills. Demonstrated ability to manage expectations and deliver results. Computer literate with proficiency in internet navigation; word processing and spreadsheet applications. Ability to collaborate with business and functional experts to provide risk assessment guidance; recognize risks and design enhancements.
