Northrop Grumman is seeking Materials/Metallurgical Engineers to join the Technology Services Intern Program.
As an intern, you’ll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of engineering specializations that may include:
Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for materials, chemical, and integrated systems
Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate test requirements and prepare test reports
Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
Analyze and research materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems
Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to assess metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes
Conduct material analyses to include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
The Technology Services Intern Program is a key strategy in our college recruiting program. The objective is to provide our interns with practical experience and to combine that experience with a targeted development program. The experience, education and enrichment we offer our interns prepare them for fulltime employment within their chosen professions.
Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in a related engineering technical discipline from an accredited institution
3.0 GPA or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your profile)
U.S. citizenship required and Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance as required.
3.7 GPA or higher
Internship experience, leadership & teamwork experience, interpersonal communications skills, and/or involvement with Diversity & Inclusion organizations.
