Job Summary

AECOM’s Water Business Unit is actively seeking a creative, innovative, and highly motivated Water Planner for immediate employment in the Houston, Austin or Dallas, Texas office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a career in providing consulting services to Regional Water Planning Groups, River Authorities, Cities/Municipalities, Water Authorities across Texas as well as an excellent working relationship with the Texas Water Development Board.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience

  • Professional Engineer registration or ability to obtain

  • Experience developing scoping documents, fee proposals, letter reports, technical memorandums, engineering studies and water usage forecasting

  • Familiarity with the Texas Water Plan and water planning strategy

  • Thorough understanding of the surface water and ground water resources in Texas

  • Ability to manage small teams of process and discipline engineers and designers

  • Ability to develop scope of work, project cost estimates, and schedules and write complete proposals

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License

  • Prepare proposals, technical reports, drawings, visual aids, and coupled with excellent presentation skills

  • Excellent communications skills and ability to be client facing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Science related field (i.e. D.WRE)

  • Familiarity with Texas water laws and regulations

  • Strong report and proposal writing capability

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams

  • Self-starter and ability to take initiative

  • Business development experience including client relations, proposal preparation, and professional leadership activities
