This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, Indiana for a BI Program Delivery Leader. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading IT projects.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Provides application orinfrastructure technical expertise, analysis and specifications for IT systemsto meet business requirements in accordance with IT architecture policies andstandards; translate requirements into technical specifications, createdetailed solution design, coordinate construction, installation, configurationand testing of IT systems; and identifies, troubleshoots and resolves systemtechnical issues.

  • Creates and manages life cycle oftechnical specifications from which programs and configurations will be appliedto create the application, infrastructure or complete solution.

  • Assists in technical analysis ofpotential solutions including evaluating the technical fit and viability ofcommercial-of-the-shelf products versus custom built solution.

  • Delivers solution adhering tostandards and leveraging re-use of components.

  • Creates high level and detail designof infrastructure OR applications, interfaces, conversions, extensions,reports, and workflows while meeting architecture, security, performance,scalability, and maintainability requirements.

  • Assists technical and infrastructuregroups in understanding the solution design and specifications.

  • Works closely with IT technicalservice providers to ensure outsourced work packages are delivered tospecifications, meeting key parameters of quality, schedule, cost, security,performance, and scalability.

  • Conducts or participates in formaldesign reviews and code reviews (where applicable) to ensure the detaileddesign specifications have been understood and coding standards have beenadhered to by the development team(s).

  • Seeks appropriate opportunities topromote re-usability of component designs to reduce costs and shorten time todeliver solutions.

  • Proactively seeks opportunities toenhance efficiency in the build and deploy processes, leveraging automationwhere possible.

  • Assists in the test strategy andexecution of master test plan.

  • Participates in the creation ofstandards, processes, procedures, and guidelines for the IT design anddevelopment community as well work instructions or ‘runbooks’ used for end-usersupport.

  • Analyzes and revises existingsystems and documentation to identify remediation or improvements in theapplication or infrastructure solution.

  • Provides level 3 support forcritical non-routine issues.

  • Coaches less experienced teammembers on technical matters.

Skills & Experience

  • 10-12 years of significantrelevant work experience.

  • In this role, you will be part ofthe Distribution Global BI Solution team which is responsible for end to enddelivery of Global BI/Reporting Solutions for Distribution business unit.

  • In this role, it is essential tohave large global project/program BI Delivery hands on experience.

  • The role involves leading thedesign, Development, testing and deployment activities of Global BI Projects bycollaborating with business, regional IT, common services, IT and project teammembers.

  • It is essential to have advancedtechnical knowledge and hands on experience with different BI Technologies likeOBIEE, Informatica, MSBI, Teradata, Hadoop Data lake, Self -Service BI Toolslike Oracle Data Visualizer and Microsoft Power BI.

  • This role will also manage a team ofBI associates and hence its essential for the candidate to demonstratenecessary leadership, communication and team building skills.

  • System Prototyping - Able to conductan early sample, model, or pre-release of a product built to test a concept orprocess or to act as a thing to be replicated or learned from.

  • Requirements Analysis - Describeshow business analysts prioritize and progressively elaborate stakeholder andsolution requirements in order to enable the project team to implement asolution that will meet the needs of the sponsoring organization andstakeholders.

  • Solution Assessment & Validation- The ability to understand and assess proposed solutions in order to determinehow closely they meet requirements and if they will deliver the desiredbusiness outcomes. The ability to understand the organization, and itsreadiness, to determine what is necessary to transition to the solution.

  • Solution Design - The activitiesinvolved in conceptualizing, defining, architecting, and ultimately designingcomplex systems.

  • Solution Construction - Ability toselect desired options to make a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products,applications, or IT systems function to user specifications. To build aparticular application or system for use in a specific way.

  • Troubleshooting - Able to diagnoseand problem solve issues with computer hardware or software components withlittle or no direction. May require ability to install, configure, ordisposition of server or client pc infrastructure and application issues.

  • Relationship Management - Createsrelationships with new acquaintances quickly and confidently; works to buildtrust and partner with stakeholders; successfully manages both internal andexternal relationships (e.g., vendor relationships); is comfortable in achallenger role that, at times, requires building constructive tension ininteractions.

  • Influence - Applies differentapproaches to convince others to change their opinion or plan, and wins supportfrom others for ideas; is able to build support with peers without direct linesof reporting across a matrix organization.

  • Decision Making - Considers therelative benefits and costs of potential actions to choose the most appropriateone; acts decisively and swiftly; identifies problems and drives towardsolutions; takes on responsible roles and accountability for outcomes even whenthings go wrong; is comfortable making difficult decisions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalentdegree in Information Technology, Business or a related subject required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience plus annualized bonus potential. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
