Current Need

Qualified individuals will be responsible for providing business analyst services as a part of a shared service technical team (EDI Team) responsible for the setup, support and maintenance of electronic data integrations for multiple McKesson business units. This group supports a diverse portfolio of trading partners including retail chains, hospitals, GPOs, financial institutions, pharmaceutical suppliers and 3PL’s. The EDI Team interfaces directly with trading partner and business unit stakeholders to understand their individual business processes and apply best practices to develop data integrations to support their business needs. The EDI Team also works with trading partner technical teams and their third-party solution providers to implement transactions tailored to their business needs. The eCommerce Business Analyst position is the senior role within the EDI Team, supporting department applications, contributing to design discussions, development and execution of test cases and (rotating) after hours support for business-critical processes.

Position Description

The eCommerce Business Analyst is responsible for requirements gathering, design, testing, documentation and support across McKesson trading partner landscape and internal integrations. The eCommerce Business Analyst will also be responsible for providing guidance on data integrations necessary to support McKesson businesses, be proficient in integration best practices, and act as an escalation point for the EDI team. This position requires knowledge of McKesson Pharma business practices or equivalent experience with distribution businesses and/or healthcare related businesses. The Business Analyst role will also support McKesson’s proprietary Community Integration and Management System (CIMS) data integration platform. CIMS is a Tier 1 business application that includes third party components such as IBM/Sterling’s GIS and ITXA translators, Axway’s B2Bi communication layer, along with proprietary Java based document management, pre/post processors and alerting systems. The Business Analysts in this group focus on specific areas of CIMS as internal experts, however an overall understanding of the environment and its components is expected.

The eCommerce Business Analyst position provides BA skills to the Integration Services teams, participating in projects focused on Customer, Supplier, Financial, and technical projects. The role would also be engaged in collaboration and project work with the McKesson middleware (EAI), SAP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) teams, along with external customers, suppliers and other McKesson business partners. Strong collaboration, communication and ability to understand and interpret business and technical details are essential to this role.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years of EDI or related experience

Critical Skills

  • Strong business analysis skills are criticalto success in this role, with emphasis on business process analysis, and theapplication of EDI to alleviate workload, increase accuracy, improvereliability and automate functions where applicable.

  • Extensive knowledge of EDI transaction setsused in a distribution business, their function, development, implementation andcommunications.

  • Excellent customer service skills, experienceserving wide range of business partners such as large retailers, hospitals, financialinstitutions or pharmaceutical manufacturers

  • Understanding of common data communicationsprotocols such as AS2, FTP, SFTP, FTP/S, SSH, encryption protocols such as3DES, and PGP, and certificate management including chain management and CRL’s.

  • Experience with EDI translation applicationssuch as Gentran, GIS, Sterling Integrator or ITXA (preferred)

  • Basic SQL knowledge, including ability towrite select queries.

  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills,specific to gathering system metrics and reporting

    Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • 4years of EDI trading partner management and support.

  • 4years of project management and/or business analysis experience in a customerfacing role.

  • Applicants should be able to articulate thebusiness benefits of EDI and cost justification.

  • Applicants should have a background in or indepth understanding of pharmaceutical (or comparable) distributionbusiness

  • An understanding of distribution related EDItransaction sets including the EDI 850, 855, 832, 856, 810, 844, 845, 864, 861,894, 895, 875, 880, 997 and the common business processes associated witheach.

  • Understanding of EDI mapping software,including capabilities and limitations is required, with knowledge of theSterling Integrator (formerly GIS) mapping application or IBM ITXA (preferred).

  • Applicants are expected to have someunderstanding of internal system integration platforms such as the IBMWebsphere and/or Java JBoss integration tools and queue protocols.

  • Knowledge of SAP focused on transactionintegration best practices

  • Experience establishing secure, internet basedconnectivity with common file transfer protocols, with emphasis on AS2, SFTP,FTP, SSH, VPN’s, and MPLS circuits.

  • Knowledge of internet data security protocolsand encryption methodology is also preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of building systemsolutions or business applications.Strong writing, negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Collaborative, customer-focused and able tocreate visible value.

  • Excellent written communication skills,including proficiency in MS Office Suite (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Access andWord)

  • Experience SAFE Agile development or otherAgile development methodologies is preferred

Education

  • 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
