Current Need

Position Description

The Software Engineer will be responsible for delivering end-to-end solutions using a broad range of skills and technologies: designing and developing full-stack solutions (i.e. web and backend software development); selecting and provisioning Azure cloud services; securing applications and their platforms; automating unit, integration, QA, and performance tests; reviewing code for quality and standards; installing and configuring CI/CD tooling; and supporting applications post go-live.

This position will follow agile methods: meeting with the business users of the product weekly or bi-weekly to gather requirements and perform demos; regularly reviewing practices in retrospectives to continually improve practices; developing and deploying software incrementally; ensuring quality is built into all phases of software development.

The team will always be looking for the right tool for the job. The current technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, Typescript, Selenium, Docker, Jenkins, Postgres, and SAP HANA.

Minimum Requirements

4 years experience in software engineering

Critical Skills

  • 6 years hands-on software development experience

  • 1 year Ruby on Rails experience

  • Proficiency in multiple languages (e.g., Ceylon, Clojure, Scala, Kotlin, Python)

  • Clear communication skills

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Linux administration and application troubleshooting

  • Database expertise (Query tuning, performance troubleshooting, PL/SQL)

  • Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Pivotal Cloud Foundry

  • Specialization in testing, security, or architecture

Education

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
