The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Nursing Director/Charge Nurse for the delivery of quality patient care utilizing the nursing process. The quality of care given will be in keeping with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and the department of Nursing. The Registered Nurse will maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice in order to meet the health care needs of patients, their families and the community. The Registered Nurse delegates and coordinates all nursing care provided to assigned patients. The Registered Nurse is responsible for meeting all standards associated with performance, nursing practice and nursing care.
Provides and documents patient care based on the nursing process in compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Plans, delegates and coordinates the nursing care of assigned patients. Utilizes basic physical and psychosocial assessment skills to identify actual nursing diagnosis/clinical problems based on assessment of patient and unique age specific needs. Completes triage assessment/documentation per policy. Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA regulations. Administers medication/blood products in a safe manner while following hospital policy. Maintains clean/safe working environment. Plans, provides, and evaluates teaching based on individual needs. Includes medications, plan of care, tests, diagnosis, disease process, pain management, restraints, and discharge planning. Assists MD with procedures and treatment. Performs assessments and reports any changes to MD. Maintains certifications as required. The Registered Nurse will work to support and protect the rights of each patient served, treats each patient with dignity and care, and maintains patient confidentiality/privacy. Demonstrates commitment to patient safety initiatives including patient falls, medication safety, National Patient Safety Goals, critical value reporting, and administration of blood products. Provides appropriate patient/family education, per department and hospital policy and procedures. Accountable for own conduct: promotes good working relationships among staff and other disciplines. Fosters good public relations.
Required Education: Required License/Certification: Required Experience: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Level entry training may be a Diploma Program in Nursing, an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing FloridaRN License American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider, ACLS, PALS certification within 6 months, Graduate RNs must obtain within one year. 1 year of experience Preferred Education: Preferred License/Certification: Preferred Experience: None None
