Bank of America Sr Business Control Specialist in Jacksonville, Florida

Job Description:

The Business Control Specialist is part of the Risk Governance Team for the Banking, Brokerage Operations & Client Services (BBO&CS) Department within GWIM Operations. The team focuses on all aspects of risk management and business controls for the broad organization ensuring appropriate controls, processes and procedures are in place and are operating effectively. The team is responsible for central coordination of activities for Risk and Audit deliverables across BBO&CS and partners with various teams to ensure all reporting requirements and deliverable deadlines are met. Responsibilities include:

  • Audit/Compliance/Risk/Regulator and Self-Identified Audit Issue (SIAIs) Issue Management

  • Process Risk and Control (PRC) Framework and Inventory

  • Centralized Audit management

  • Enterprise Policy / Standard Adherence

  • GWIM and LOB Procedure Oversight

  • Enterprise Risk Initiative coordination

  • Third Party Governance

The Business Control Specialist role may support one or many of the responsibilities above, including project management, status updates and meeting facilitation/leadership. The role works with all levels of management and builds relationships with other teams across the organization, Control Partners and central BCMR. The Business Control Specialist leverages business knowledge and their understanding of risk to drive centralized oversight, gap assessments, reviews, remediation, communication, etc. to help the BBO&CS organization effectively manage risk and ensure strong business controls are in place.

• 5 years Operations, Services or Risk experience desired

• Strong project management skills and ability to lead

• Knowledgeable of policies, procedures and standards

• Strong understanding/knowledge of Operational Risk, the Control Framework initiative

• Understanding of QA/QC, issues management (SIAI), PRC inventory desired

• Ability to communicate/articulate issues clearly and concisely, especially to senior management

• Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced area

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint – advanced Excel skills desired

• Self motivated and demonstrates a willingness to accept additional responsibilities and projects.

• Detail oriented, analytical and control mindset
