IBM Country Counsel in JAKARTA, Indonesia

As the Country Counsel and the leader for the legal function at IBM Indonesia, you will act as an advisor to senior management on all legal matters. You will also review, interpret and advise on local laws, IBM policies and practices, business conduct and ethics, draft, review and negotiate agreements, contracts and other documents. You will manage the use of outside counsel for dispute matters or for purposes of other business strategies where necessary (i.e. business ventures, acquisitions, lawsuits, etc.). This role will also include line management responsibility for the legal function within Indonesia.The legal function in ASEAN works as one legal team to support business needs across ASEAN, so you will also be expected to assume additional responsibilities outside of Indonesia as assigned by the company and/or Regional Counsel.

Eligibility Requirements

  • 18+PQE with experience gained from legal practice (at the minimum, 2 years in legal practice) and ideally, with in-house counsel experience industries: Technology/ Energy/ Industrial/ Utilities/ Telco

  • Legally qualified in Indonesia: Minimum Bachelor Degree majoring in Law and holding a valid and current Advocates Licence

  • Strong legal analytical skills

  • Sound people and organizational skills are required
