Cummins South Pacific’s Industry-Based Learning (IBL) program is a one year paid employment opportunity which aims to provide undergraduate students the opportunity to gain invaluable professional and business experience in a corporate environment. The program will provide structured mentoring, an intern buddy system, as well as training in the professional environment.

Each individual department is responsible for contributing to ongoing functional excellence, and to providing support in this function for the South Pacific region.

Upon completion of the IBL program, students will be equipped with the skills, networks and capabilities which will greatly enhance their employability upon completion of their studies.

Working as a Marketing Intern for a global organisation will open many career doors in the future. You will gain hands on experience in our Kilsyth Office and have the opportunity to work with many internal stakeholders across the business.

Working closely with Sales and Marketing team, the Marketing Intern will assist with and be involved in the following;

  • Marketresearch and analysis covering industry trends, competitor intelligence andopportunity prioritisation

  • Market,Competitor & Customer profiles todetermine size of the market and market share

  • Businessanalysis to report business trends & KPI scorecards

  • Cataloguemanagement including ownership of research, preparation and publication topromote a greater product offering to current and prospective customers

  • Productgap analysis to identify gaps in product range

  • Coordinatecustomer events, trade shows and field days

  • Assistin brainstorming and idea planning

  • Attendmeetings and liaise across different departments

  • PersonalHealth and Safety

  • Administrativework where required

  • A sound understanding of Sales and Marketing concepts and howSales and Marketing can add value to a business

  • A highly analytical and data minded approach

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as effectively as part of ateam

  • Commitment to learn, grow and develop in a business environment

  • Demonstrate high levels of motivation, maturity andprofessionalism

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with theability to learn other applications

  • Excellent customer service skills

Candidate must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree to engage in this 12 Month Internship program. The candidate must also be willing to learn from others on the job and inside a specific team, and be curious to explore the different functions and unique roles at Cummins.
