Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an ES&H Manager I to be based in our Kincardine, Ontario location.

The ES&H Manager job family is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the environmental, safety and health (ES&H) programs under senior management direction.

Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:

  • Recognizes, evaluates, recommends and implements policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with ES&H requirements of the organization.

  • Responsible for monitoring and preventing chemical, biological, physical hazards and diseases present throughout work sites.

  • Reviews and incorporates health standards published by regulatory authorities.

  • Ensures that quality control procedures are established to monitor all aspects of regulations.

  • Provides all necessary reports to Federal, State and local agencies.

  • Directs audits of health and safety program to identify and control significant loss producing exposure.

  • Must keep fully informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations.

  • Develops and provides basic ES&H training to employees.

  • Promotes communication programs to enhance and encourage employee awareness of accident and fire prevention, industrial hygiene and environmental compliance.

  • Plan develops and directs the personnel within the Environmental Health and Safety function of the organization.

  • Provides leadership direction to management and professional personnel of the organization.

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environment, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry or an applied science field or demonstrated equivalent.


  • This is a management level position with 8 years of experience required.

  • Certification in BCRSP, CRBOH, CHSC should be pursued or completed.

Additional requirements include:

  • 3 years safety and health experience at operating nuclear facilities

  • Knowledgeable in Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) regulations
