The Oncology Department at Sunrise Hospital is currently accepting applications for an Adult Nursenavigator. This position will help patients and their families by guiding them through the steps and decisions that are involved in a cancer diagnosis and treatment plan. Qualified applicants must have an Oncology background. This position is a day shift position, Monday through Friday.

The Adult Oncology Program Coordinator, under the direction of the of The Director of Oncology Strategy and Development, shares responsibility for coordinating program development in conjunction with facility service line leaders to ensure objectives, outcomes, and goals are achieved. The Adult Oncology Program Coordinator is responsible for assuring evidenced-based standards of care for Adult Oncology patients are met as required by The Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies. The Adult Oncology Program Coordinator also is responsible for program development, planning, organizing, implementation, assessment, and performance improvement of the service line. This position also monitors the quality performance of the Adult Oncology staff and physicians. The program coordinator works closely with the research staff to assess and enroll patient in current clinical trials as applicable. The Adult Oncology Program Coordinator will be required to report confidential data and outcomes in Cancer Committee and Administrative meetings. The Adult Oncology Program Coordinator will take on other responsibilities as determined by the Director of Oncology Strategy and Development for Adult Oncology programs. This service line coordinator will also cross cover other Oncology Program Coordinators in their absence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred OR completed BSN within 1 year of hire date.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • Participation in professional organizations
  • BLS required, ACLS preferred


  • Minimum five years oncology nursing experience (preferred)

  • Experience in program development
  • Experience as a nurse navigator and / or patient educator in oncology strongly preferred
  • Experience in leadership


  • Excellent customer service skills. Ability to communicate with patients, physicians, and staff as appropriate.

  • Public speaking skills. Strong networking abilities. Ability to work independently and be self-directed. Must be detail oriented and possess strong analytical and computer skills.


  • Current Nevada license to practice Nursing

  • Independently maintains license
  • Acquires required contact hours to maintain licensure
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification achieved or completed within 1 year of hire
