The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), under the general supervision of the physical therapist, is responsible for the treatment of a wide variety of patients, including but not limited to patients with: neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and other medical conditions in the areas of acute and sub-acute physical therapy.
The PTA is responsible for the implementation of a pre-established physical therapy treatment plan of care. The procedures performed by a PTA include mobility training, therapeutic exercise, therapeutic activities, wound care and modalities. The PTA must treat patients in accordance with the rules and regulations of this facility, and the Nevada State Board of Physical Therapy. The PTA must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and interpret data reflective of the patients’ medical status and age specific needs, in order to provide the appropriate care, as described in the department’s policies and procedures.
The PTA will provide goal directed treatment program implementation and modification, as well as related documentation and communication for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations, without regard to race, color, gender, religion, or national origin.
EDUCATION:**· Graduate from a recognized Physical Therapy Assistant program**
· Demonstrated experience in establishing interpersonal relationships necessary to promote an effective working environment**
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:**· Nevada State Board of Physical Therapy** · CPR Certification**
