One of the greatest nursing elements of our Magnet® recognition is the commitment of our organization to nursing voice through our well established professional practice councils. This shared leadership model allows nurses from every unit to drive outcomes and impact practice environments using evidence-based research.
We take pride in being able to support our nurses with a professional nursing library and relaxation room, a career enhancement reward system, and the opportunity to advance nursing knowledge with reimbursement of tuition and the cost associated with obtaining professional nursing certifications.
When asked why they love MCL, our nurses say “It’s very much like a family here. Everyone is friendly and gets to know one another. We take pride in the fact that we have such a friendly culture while still being able to deliver exceptional care that rivals larger organizations.”
Medical Center of Lewisville has earned disease-specific certifications from the Joint Commission for Hip and Knee Replacement, Diabetes Care, Stroke, Chest Pain, STEMI, and is recognized as a top performer for open heart surgery according to the Society of Thoracic Surgery (STS).
