Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electronics Engineer 2/3. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Baltimore, MD.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Electronics/Hardware Engineering organization and will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other developers.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Sensor Instrumentation Server (SIS) group is looking for an engineer to support design, integration and test of the SIS product. The SIS is a Linux server based data driven framework in wide use across the sector. Typical applications involve data acquisition, stimulation/control of systems for test, interface translation, data injection, playback, and data analysis.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven problem solver. Employee will spend a significant amount of time in various program integration labs supporting debug, analysis, flight test or other program events, ensuring the systems meet program requirements. They will work closely with systems engineers, hardware design engineers, software engineers, and customers, troubleshooting and correcting root causes of various system level issues.

This position can be hired at a Band 2 or Band 3 please see the requirements for each level below.

Basic Qualifications for a Band 2:

-Applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Applied/Engineering Physics, or related.

-Applicant must have at least 2 years of experience

-Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite)

-Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours

Skills required

Working knowledge of C, C , or VHDL

Familiarity with Linux

Familiarity with Matlab or Python

Familiarity with standard lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, pattern generators, etc.)

Basic Qualifications for a Band 3:

-Applicant must have at least 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.

Applicant will be involved with designing, integrating, and/or testing electronics. They must be self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment.

-Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite)

-Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours

Skills required

Working knowledge of C, C , or VHDL

Familiarity with Linux

Familiarity with Matlab or Python

Familiarity with standard lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, pattern generators, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

Active Secret Clearance

-Previous design, test, or integration experience utilizing Linux based systems, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills.

- Ability to communicate with teammates, customers, and vendors to solve issues with complex systems.

-Two years of experience with one or more of the following languages: C, C , Python, MATLAB, VHDL, XML.

-Ability to write embedded (real time) control and DSP software in C/C .

-Ability to write data analysis and display code in Matlab.

-Working knowledge of RAIDS, servers, data acquisition, and data analysis.

-Working knowledge of Intel based computer systems.

-Working knowledge of common open standard interfaces and protocols (Ethernet, sFPDP, PCI Express).

-Ability to use standard test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, pattern generators, and spectrum analyzers.
