WindStream Communications Staff Manager-Finance in Little Rock, Arkansas

Job Responsibilities: * Oversee preparation of periodic reports (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) including drafting Management’s Discussion & Analysis and other disclosure sections, closely working with business owners and other accounting groups to understand and explain changes in revenues, expenses and cash flows and reviewing supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy * Assist in preparation and filing of registration statements (Forms S-3, S-4, S-8) including preparing pro forma financial information * Review XBRL tagging for appropriateness and consistency with current taxonomy * Coordinate with Investor Relations regarding the preparation and release of supplemental financial information * Oversee completion of monthly corporate accounting close process (select corporate overhead expense accounts, prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities) ensuring all required journal entries and allocations have been completed, variance explanations are complete and accurate and all required balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a timely basis * Manage and develop Corporate Accounting and External Reporting teams * Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls * Assist in coordination of the internal and external financial audit processes * Complete accounting research projects as assigned Qualifications:

  • CPA required
  • Prior external reporting experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to research and resolve accounting-related issues
  • Strong analytical and auditing skills, with the ability to research complex business transactions
  • Strong supervisory skills with proven ability to manage and direct others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an internal customer service focus
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external auditors
  • Proactive and ability to work effectively with limited supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other Microsoft Office applications
  • JD Edwards experience preferred

Desired Qualifications: College degree and 8 years professional level experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience; or 12 years professional level related experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience desired.
