Position Description

Successful candidate will be well-rounded in industrial electrical skills, repair experience and knowledge of a broad range of complex facility systems. This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform complex technical tasks as well as leading and training team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintenance,modification, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide variety of challengingelectronic and electro-mechanical systems in a distribution centerenvironment.

  • Provideelectrical support for all facility systems and equipment including butnot limited to conveyors, Printers, Strappers, Compressors and otherautomated technologies.

  • Demonstrateskills in all phases of facility maintenance including electricaltroubleshooting.

  • Selfstarter in new system and equipment learning and training.

  • Abilityto lead and train other facilities assistants.

  • Communicatewith and maintain relationships with vendors.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2 years facilities engineering experience

Critical Skills

  • At least 2 years in mechanical/HVAC,electrical, or a combination of both.

  • Experiencewith troubleshooting controlsystems ranging from relay logic to microprocessor based controls.

  • Maintenance, troubleshootingand repair of a wide variety of challenging electronic and electro-mechanicalsystems in a distribution center environment

  • Abilityto read and understand electrical schematicsis required.

  • Ability to learn quickly and address issues asthey arise during normal working hours or when on call.

  • Applicants must have flexibility with workhours and days, to include holidays and short notice call in.

  • Ability to lead, communicate and motivate teammembers under normal as well as during times of high pressure due tosystem failures.

  • Ability to communicate effectively between facilities team, vendors,operations and IT

  • Must be open to flexible night, Sunday through Thursday, with a typicalstart time of 7PM. Must also beopen to overtime, on call, holidays and adjusting shift as needed based onbusiness requirements.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of the NEC andsome light electrical construction experience is a plus.

  • Excellent understandingof the electrical and mechanical systems including power feeders,transformers, generators, switchgear, AC/DC drives, PLC’s, UPS systems,compressors, strappers air handling units and CRAC units.

  • Experience with LOTO andOSHA regulations; ability to train others in regulatory requirements.

  • MS Office proficiency;

  • Ability to communicateintelligently and effectively with contractors who perform maintenance orupgrade work on facility systems.

  • Associate’s degree,trade school certification, or other verifiable training in a relevanttechnical field a plus

Education

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent. May require certification in an electrical, welding, or mechanical field.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform lifting (weight varies based on product),walking, standing, climbing, work overhead, and office environment.

  • Ability to operate power equipment including scissor lifts, boomlifts, man-lifts, reach trucks, tuggers, scrubbers and sweepers
