Business Intelligence Consultant - 12 month contract

Target Openings:


Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

May include all or the majority but not limited to these components:

Accountable for the development, automating, compiling, and preparing reports, self

service/ad-hoc env, dashboards, cubes, etc.

Accountable for solution design satisfying the business requirements.

Assists in the development of the strategic plan for Information Delivery.

Educates and provides user groups with technical training and best practices on utilizing

products. Delivery may be handed off to others.

Responsible for having broad knowledge of Business Intelligence products and tools and being

able to effectively utilize those products and tools.

Responsible for identifying the appropriate infrastructure and performance requirements are


Determines if project is a candidate for prototyping and validate prototypes before

production build.

Identifies appropriate BI tools supporting information delivery

Provides oversight and consulting support for IT developed solutions as needed.

Accountable for the definition, planning and execution of unit and integration testing;

complete system testing as appropriate.

Validates and signs off on the results of the test.

Insures that specifications are documented for all deliverables before moving to production.

Owns components of the timeline and plans.

Manages the transition and or support the production process.

Manages and triages root cause analysis on production defects and schedule for correction.

Accountable that data management is informed of new sources and attributes for their


Provides guidance to less seasoned Information Delivery team members. May have direct

accountability for managing Information Delivery team members.

Position Type:


Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:

Typically has broad experience in Information Delivery or related experience.

Some management experience or experience leading others preferred.

Experience training others and developing training materials.

Broad experience working with programming languages specific to function supported.

Broad experience working with analytic tools/models.

Broad knowledge and experience using SQL against multiple data sources.

Thorough knowledge of Information Delivery practices and processes.

Thorough Knowledge: Possesses advanced knowledge of subject matter in order to solve

unusual as well as common work problems and advise on technical matters and to serve as a

resource to organization.
