Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Drive development and implementation of moderately complex internal communications that directly advance business objectives and strategic priorities, while reinforcing Travelers' culture.

Advise business leaders and initiative teams on communications objectives, strategy, and content for a variety of internal audiences at all levels.

Counsel leadership on communications approach and employee engagement.

Integrate key messages into internal communications.

Demonstrate a general understanding of business strategies and build them into communications approaches and materials. Utilise communications expertise to ensure successful implementation of internal communications.

Manage delivery of communications across internal audiences, partnering with others to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach.

Identify and manage implementation of internal communications best practices.

Create and deliver internal communications plans using a variety of vehicles and channels for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

Adhere to enterprise approval processes and guide others in the use of templates and brand guidelines in the development of internal communications materials

Measure effectiveness of assigned internal communications through qualitative and quantitative methods.

Close coordination with marketing and external communications, including media relations, public affairs, executive external speaking engagements, etc.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

This leader of the communications function for Travelers Europe, under enterprise-wide supervision, owns and delivers the internal communications and engagement strategy for operations in Europe. This leader will also work in close coordination with marketing and external communications (e.g., media relations, public affairs, executive external speaking engagements, etc.). This includes identifying and keeping Travelers Europe employees aware of business developments and other opportunities in partnership with the European Senior Leadership Team and business units (e.g. Europe Bond and Specialty, Travelers Syndicate Management or Europe Business Insurance); leading the development and execution of communications strategies and plans. Partnering directly with business units and support functions to implement internal communications that enhance and support business objectives and strategy, whilst always reinforcing Travelers' culture. This job is a Supervisor: First level of management with formal direct reports. Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of direct reports. This level is typically involved performance management and compensation decisions for employees, but does so with direct supervision of more senior level manager.

Bachelors' degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, writing or related field preferred.

General and up to date knowledge of contemporary communications techniques.
