Senior Claim Product Manager, BSI
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Claim Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to address and improve claim results. Collaborate with claim management, claim legal and other claim product managers to develop new products to support the claim value proposition, reduce expenses and improve claim results and customer service through workflow and process efficiencies. Assist with the identification and escalation of improvement opportunities and understand and assess barriers identified as areas in need of improvement. Assist with vendor management in support of workflow and process improvement initiatives. Claim Practices Support: Proactively stay abreast of industry, developments, changing trends and jurisdictional issues. Assist in industry analysis and benchmarking studies. Partner with Claim Europe management, US Bond Claim, Underwriting, Actuarial and Risk management to provide (proactive) commentary, reports and analysis of trends, issues, claims, related portfolio matters or reserving commentary in timely and structured way. Serve as a contact with business partners and to liaise with Claim Europe management on; claim policy interpretation, coverage issues, settlement authority, extra contractual litigation, compliance and regulatory issues, program and/or procedural issues. Provides Claim Europe management with updates on legislative, regulatory, and market conduct issues in this area. Share accountability with BSI Claim business partners to achieve and sustain quality results. Business Process, Workflow and Technology: Assists in the creation of, implementation and maintenance of claim handling guidelines, policies and procedures for BSI claims. Assists in the development and implementation of claim policy language and endorsements in conjunction with BSI Supports the investigation and implementation of new technologies, in concert with Claim Europe management, to improve processes and increase productivity. Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking studies. Develop training materials and instruct users on strategies, processes and/or procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Advanced knowledge of claim coverage, pricing, marketing strategies and business plans in BSI product lines. Able to interpret information gathered from multiple sources to draw logical conclusions and make sound business decisions for claim and for the business. Able to think strategically and support the Bond and Speciality Claim and business partners' vision and assist in setting short and long term goals and milestones to reach that vision. Able to balance multiple tasks and priorities, and make sound decisions in a timely and efficient manner. Articulates issues in a clear, concise and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing. Listens carefully and attentively; encourages and accepts diverse points of view. Takes initiative to stay informed and keeps others informed. Under general direction, supports the strategy and operations of the Bond and Specialty (Commercial lines) line of business. Supports and helps to lead initiatives for improving line of business claim results. Evaluates operating environment, vendors, workflow processes, and support services for assigned line of business or product. Documents multiple solutions to recommend and assist with implementation of changes for improvement and/or depth in Bond and Specialty area. Works within broad limits and with autonomy on complex assignments requiring specialised knowledge in breadth. This job does not manage others.

Qualified UK solicitor or US attorney. Significant Bond and Professional lines insurance market experience. Thorough experience and sound judgment within specific job function. Thorough technical expertise in Bond and Professional lines insurance with proven track record within specific job function.

Licensing or Certificates:
Fellow or ACII qualified or legally trained.
