Job Description

Join us in this influential senior solutions architect role and you’ll have a chance to shine with a global, blue chip business. If you like to work collaboratively and enjoy selling in solutions to stakeholders, you’ll be in your element, working on some of our higher risk projects.

The team

You’ll join a well-respected team of enterprise and solutions architects who work in Bangalore, London and Houston to support Shell’s Global Commercial & Chemicals business (GCC). GCC aims to be the best in the market when it comes to supplying lubricants, aviation fuel, bitumen and other chemical to customers in countries all over the world. Your contribution will make a measurable impact on Shell’s effectiveness and profitability.

The role

In this a senior solution architect role, you’lltake end-to-end accountability for high-level solution designonsome of our larger and more complex global projects.Your solutions need to be aligned with our overall segment architecture and have technical integrity, the right TCO (total cost of ownership) through their lifecycle and fit well with the overall technology direction of Shell.

You’ll be an ambassador for architecture,directly interacting with business process owners and senior project managers and dealing with a diverse range of technology. Naturally proactive and curious about developments in your field, you’ll quickly get to grips with our architecture framework and cultivate a network of trust within Shell’s IT and business communities.

Requirements

What we need from you

Of graduate calibre, probably qualified in IT, Information Management or Software Engineering, you’ll bring us strong experience as the lead architect in a similar corporate environment, preferably working on enterprise-scale solutions.

You’ve proven you can work in a virtual team, building effective relationships with colleagues working both in business and IT and that you love to challenge business requirements to drive best-value outcomes.

On top of that, we’re looking for as many of the following as possible

  • Experience in SAP

  • Experience in an Agile project environment

  • Communication skills at all levels, in person and in writing - including an aptitude for storytelling

  • Strategic view; ability to manage multiple projects.
