  • This is a key position with​in the Corporate Security and Business Resilience function. The person who will be selected for this role needs to be a highly competent business continuity and resilience professional that is able to engage and deliver at senior management level

  • The successful candidate will report to the Regional lead for UK/EMEA & India and be responsible for the co-ordination of all BCM activities throughout​his / her remit, utilising his or her management, operational knowledge and interpersonal skills

Accountability

This is a wide ranging role with responsibility for developing, implementing, supporting and managing all aspects of the Pearson UK Resilience programme, (with growth into the EMEA theatre of operations, including the ever increasing scope of the ISO22301 certified program. This is a mid-level position with a number of functions and responsibilities, which will include, but are not limited to:

  • The development, implementation and management of a comprehensive business continuity and resilience management program for all business areas. In particular the candidate will ensure

​Governance​and compliance against the BCM requirements for each​location and business function; influencing local policies, standards, and strategic direction based upon​the c​corporate BCM policy mandate. In order to do so the candidate will work closely with the

​business and country​leaders to ensure that BCM/Resilience processes and requirements are being followed and to identify areas of continuous improvement

  • Oversee the conducting/review of strategic​b​business​i​impact​a​nalysis (BIA) together with the identification and assessment of potential risks to the organisatio​n.​Ensure downstream BIAs and subsequent BC/DR plans are conducted accordingly

  • Act as a single point of contact and subject matter expert for ISO22301 for​relevant PQS business and​leadership​

  • Support​due​diligence programs and the audit of critical 3rd party suppliers

  • Disseminate knowledge, raise awareness and act as a conduit of information across​the remit's BCP community and relevant stakeholders

  • Ensure documented BC & DR (WAR) plans and crisis communication/incident management capabilities are embedded and exercised

  • The provision of BCM/ITDR expertise and management direction on new projects and day-to-day operations of those responsible for delivering BCM policy within​geography​

  • Prepare dashboard reports​for​periodical reporting to executive and audit committee as required

  • ​Directly support colleagues in the Corporate Security and Business resilience team

  • Be duty officer on rotation basis

  • The role will require travel throughout the​UK and locations in Europe​

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

Skills & Experience

  • BCM / ISO 22301 experience

  • IT DR implementation and experience desirable

  • Project management experience

  • Experience in other Risk Management areas i.e. ISO27001/Supply Chain desirable

  • Have the ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously to achieve target dates within remit

  • Experience in performing ‘hands-on’ BCM/ITDR reviews and assessments of business operations

Qualifications

  • Membership of a recognised Business Continuity Association/Institute

  • Holds CBCI Certification or Higher (or equivalent)
