Kaiser Permanente Admin Dietitian in Los Angeles, California

Supervises assigned areas of departmental operations including service, food procurement, production and sanitation related to patient feeding, cafeteria and catering programs. Provides supervision of food service staff including training, orientation, performance evaluation, coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, scheduling and time card processing. Facilitates inter/intradepartmental communications. Performs other administrative/clinical duties as assigned. Participates in departmental Continuous Quality Improvement activities.

Essential Functions: - Ensure compliance to TJC and Title 22 regulations. - Contributes to efficiency and quality of food service delivery systems. - Plans, implements and reports on Continuous Quality Improvement activities. - Participates, contributes and assures effective inter and intra-departmental relationships by coordinating activities with internal and external department management staff members. - Maintains effective written and verbal communication by providing accurate and pertinent reports on daily activities and issues in the department. - Maintains standards of food preparation and meal service, sanitation, safety and security. - Supervises assigned Union and exempt personnel. - Trains, evaluates and, where appropriate, disciplines staff for area of responsibility. - Plans, conducts and evaluates orientation and in-service education programs. - Processes staff schedules, payroll and time cards. - Assures that scheduled positions are staffed in accordance with provisions of Union contract. - Enforce security and cash control procedures per policy. - Assume Clinical Dietitian responsibilities on as as-needed basis.

Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Experience - Minimum three (3) years of clinical dietetic experience required. - Minimum two (2) years of food service supervisory experience. Education - Bachelor's degree in food/nutrition required. License, Certification, Registration - National Provider Identifier (NPI) required as of May 23, 2007. - Registered Dietician required.

Additional Requirements: - Familiar with inpatient/outpatient operations required. - Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications: - Previous training/teaching experience preferred. - Preferred union management experience.
