Job Summary

AECOM Capital is a real estate developer and private equity investor of numerous core assets in gateway cities throughout the US and England.

Will manage the overall project accounting process for ground-up commercial real estate development projects. Will collaborate with Field Operations, Project Management and Finance/Investments with responsibilities including:

  • Implementing and maintaining a cost tracking and forecasting system.

  • Processing project accounting transactions.

  • Compiling capital calls and loan draw requests.

  • Liaising with equity partners and lenders on the funding process.

  • Monitoring and analyzing reserve accounts, expenditures and projecting cost allocations.

  • Assisting in preparing project management reports including variance analysis, compliance with internal accounting and reporting policies and procedures.

  • Providing excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have a strong finance, accounting, and systems background that includes the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Three to five years’ experience in real estate development and/or construction project accounting.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Real Estate Development, Accounting or related field.

  • Project accounting experience with projects in the $100M to $500M or more range.

  • Experience establishing and maintaining financial reporting and tracking systems.

  • Experience in and knowledge of financial forecasting and reporting.

  • Proven ability to present to senior management.

  • Sound experience in financial reporting and accounting principles and practices utilized in controls of complex large-scale real estate developments.

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Work, Excel, Outlook, Project and PowerPoint.

  • Impeccable attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and problem solve.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MRI or other job cost accounting systems and /or Nexus Payables.
