Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Driver/Loader for employment in the Lynchburg, VA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Load, transport and unload material and drive trucks less than 26,000 pounds

  • Drive vehicles both on and off of government installations and in light to heavy traffic conditions

  • Monitor vehicle during operation and reports maintenance/repair issues to local office

  • Secures loads being transported to ensure safe and undamaged arrival at destination

  • Report and receives direction cellular phone

  • Perform serial number inventory

  • Maintain security in all designated areas

  • Perform appropriate vehicle inspections and report deficiencies

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Reads and interprets maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient and safe route of service

  • Due to the nature of this work, candidate must be 25 years of age or older

  • Must have clean driving record, for the past 5 years

  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 60 pounds

  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk,reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Succesful completion of background check

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Sustainability, resiliency and/or climate adaptation experience a plus but not a requirement

  • Experience driving in rural, urban and city environments
