HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse ( RN ) Full Time in Macon, Georgia


The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care members. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the direct and indirect total nursing care of his/her patient assignment. The nurse is responsible for but not limited to: the care of cardiac/peripheral procedural patients, post sheath removal, recognition of groin complications, EKG interpretation, abnormal lab value recognition and reporting of these values to the physician, input of ACC data. This position requires knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of nursing care. Interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations, along with management and supervisory skills are inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory, or visual fashion is essential. The primary method to express or exchange ideas is through the spoken word. Written, telephone, and manual dexterity skills are required for the position.

    • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.

    • Associate degree required LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

    • Current Georgia nursing license

    • BLS – AHA Healthcare Provider required


    • 1 year of telemetry nursing is preferred, but not required SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

    • Reads and writes English with the basic skills necessary to transfer physician’s orders

    • Ability to move in excess of 100 pounds, with assistance from other staff members

    • Good knowledge of cardiac drugs and arrhythmias

    • Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring helpful, but not required

    • Knowledge of sterile procedures

    • Ability to listen, empathize, and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs

    • This position is exposed to ionizing radiation and requires the employee to wear a lead apron and stand for long periods of time
