Investment Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity for an analyst to join our DB Investment team. The successful candidate may also have an opportunity to get involved and work across other areas such as Funding or Strategic Solutions, as part of an integrated client team or on specific projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as lead project manager on a range of DB Pension Fund clients

  • Determining appropriate investment strategies and structures for clients

  • Supporting manager selection exercises, checking for inconsistencies and ensuring the client’s needs are being addressed

  • Supporting changes to the investment manager arrangements occur on time and in the most appropriate manner

  • Dealing with queries received from clients, investment managers, third parties and other Mercer business lines

  • Producing, checking or reviewing reports containing investment advice

Qualifications

Skills And Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A broad understanding of the UK pensions and investment market place, how schemes operate and key trends

  • Good attention to detail and analytical skills together with ability to work through tasks in a logical manner

  • Strong IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel

  • Excellent planning and organisational ability in order to prioritise and complete work in accordance to deadlines

  • A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Educated to degree level (minimum 2:1) in a numeric subject and studying towards or qualified a professional pensions qualification i.e. Actuarial, PMI, or CFA

  • Ideally working towards Threshold Competency
