Provide technical guidance to management, team, and the customer in regards to implementation of highly advance technical solutions
Support all dimensions of development including data transformations, sourcing, mapping, conversion and loading data from various sources into Data Warehouses and Data Marts
Responsible for supporting the Big Data environment in order to perform descriptive and predictive analytics on Big Data sets
Collaborate across engineering teams in order to quickly adapt to emerging and dependent technologies is a must
Continually interact with architects, engineers and system administrators to design and implement innovative solutions that will provide key decision making abilities
Install database server, software, patch and upgrade binaries. Create databases on UNIX, Windows and other platforms. Monitor databases for performance and stability. Design and Develop processes for alerting and monitoring. Key responsibility also includes design and implementation of security and encryption for sensitive data
Design and develop back and restore strategy policies and procedures. Tune database and application SQL from infrastructure perspective. Maintain audit and SOX compliance of databases supported by the team and documentation for the same
Deliver assignments by established deadlines. Keep management well-informed on a timely basis of progress, status and/or concerns for each assignment
Decision making RESPONSIBILITIES for the position include day-to-day operational decisions, effective strategic decision-making to support business and customers. Decisions include design and implementation of a stable, secure, performing infrastructure for the application/customer; design High Availability, Backup/restore/DR, Clustered solutions that interact seamlessly with other homogenous and heterogeneous platforms using links, replication products and/or related technology. RESPONSIBILITIES including providing technical guidance to management, team and customers in regards to implementation of highly advance technological solutions
Participate in 24*7 on call support activities including supporting Operations Team .
Develops and maintains standards for implementation, maintenance, and optimization
Reviews performance and capacity planning reports and makes recommendations to management
AWS certifications desired
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience
Database Administration experience on one or more database management systems, preferably Oracle.
Must be able to recognize and address project issues, including technical challenges, and address them appropriately without management intervention
Candidate must have the experience to design, deliver and support a stable, secure, highly performing infrastructure for the application/customer; design High Availability, Backup/restore/DR, Clustered solutions that interact seamlessly with other homogenous and heterogeneous platforms using links, replication products and/or related technology
Demonstrates the ability to independently prepare time and resource estimates for new projects, enhancements and maintenance
Consistently demonstrates the ability to quickly assimilate and apply new concepts and technical skills
Working experience of the Hadoop ecosystem is a plus.
Experience working as an Application DBA in Terrabyte scale environment. Should be able to work closely with the development teams and provide inputs. Hands on experience with Data Modeling skills, experience writing stored procedures/packages and provide assistance to the development teams.
Work on Capacity planning of the database
Participate in daily scrum calls with development teams to provide expert guidance during the design phase.
Experience working in Linux environment. Hands on experience writing shell scripts in automating procedures.
Experience working on OEM 12C.
Must have expert database monitoring and tuning skills and apply these skills to optimize the database. Good handle on interpreting AWR/ADDM reports
Recent hands on working experience on AWS
Provide operational support to handle AWS Redshift clusters and heterogeneous RDS instances
Experience in creating automation tools for managing relational databases (auditing, account management, backup/restore, discovery, schema deployment).
Experience managing servers in large-scale, geographically diverse environments.
