Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Controls Technician for immediate employment for the Markham, On office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Maintain the AECOM project financial system (uploading change orders, opening and closing projects, compiling monthly EAC)

  • Assist in developing of project WBS

  • Set up and administer project cost control, including monitor, collect and analyses actual cost, commitments and accruals

  • Identify cost trends and reports analysis to project management and clients and maintain project key performance indicators

  • Develop reports for clients including but not limited to progress and financial reports

  • Develop and maintain project variance and earned value reporting and highlighted exceptions to the project manager

  • Evaluate task projects against project schedule and budget

  • Evaluate project performance and identify areas of concern

  • Compile monthly invoices and follow up with client AP for approval and payment

  • Assist the Project Manager with developing Estimate to Complete Cost and Revenues

  • Assist in the identification of change conditions ad the development of Change Order requests documents and estimates

  • Manage subcontractor's involvement; coordinate contracts, budgets, commitments, expenditures, invoices and performance

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as required by the Project Manager

  • Develop and maintain project schedules

  • General project coordination, logistics and administration

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or Business Administration

  • Ability to interpret and explain basic project financial information

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Superb interpersonal communication skills, as this role requires continuous interaction with team leaders and client's management

  • Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of ProjectWise, SharePoint or similar document control software considered an advantage

  • Experience working with Project Management software or major ERP software (i.e. Oracle, SAP or JD Edwards) is considered an asset

  • Experience working in a project environment

  • Working knowledge of MS Project
