Rio Grande Regional Hospitalis currently looking for aNurse Practitioner (NP) - Sepsis Coordinator.

TheSepsis Coordinatoris aNurse Practitionerwho has 24 hour responsibility for the sepsis program. This person works in collaboration with the medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to the septic patient. The Coordinator provides clinical, professional expertise for patients, families and staff members. The Coordinator facilitates development and refines the sepsis protocol to become the standard of care within the facility. The Coordinator participates in the quality improvement process.

Responsibilities: * Collaboration with all members of the interdisciplinary team to achieve productive movement of the best practices within the organization * Provides organized care to the patient with sepsis with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention * Functions as an educator and coordinates care in critical care/sepsis patient care management, ensuring optimal patient care management outcomes. * The coordinator will collect and analyze data surrounding the sepsis patients to assist with documentation, coding, clinical care, and outcomes. * Monitors quality of care and seeks opportunity to make improvements. * Facilitates development and refines the sepsis protocol to become the standard of care within the facility * Applies good verbal and nonverbal skills to achieve service goals of customer service and satisfaction. * Maintains active involvement in nursing and hospital committees as necessary. * Participates in committees as necessary * Participates in other duties as assigned

Qualifications: * Graduate of Nursing Advanced Practice Program. * Prefer 3-5 years acute care nursing experience * Current Registered Nurse (RN) license by the State of Texas. * Current Advanced Practice Nurse license recognition by the State of Texas * Current BCLS, ACLS required
